Communication professor Sarah Parsloe and Danielle Boland ’25 were awarded best theoretical presentation at the 2024 Florida Communication Association (FCA) Conference.
Communication professor Sarah Parsloe and Danielle Boland ’25, an undergraduate student pursuing a double major in communication studies and psychology, were recently awarded best theoretical presentation at the 2024 Florida Communication Association Conference for their project titled “We Want to Empower Them with a Choice: Managing Tensions of Healthy Eating Within Patterns of Family.” Their project was funded as part of the Student-Faculty Collaborative Scholarship Program, which gives undergraduate students at Rollins the opportunity to participate in high-level research that would typically be available only to graduate students.
The FCA aims to coordinate the efforts of teachers, students, and others interested in advancing the communication arts and sciences in the state of Florida. Since 1930, the annual FCA Convention has invited communication scholars, students, and practitioners from Florida and beyond to present their work and engage in meaningful dialogue.
