Nominated by student employees, this award recognizes an exceptional mentor who consistently demonstrates a high degree of support for students’ personal, academic, and professional development.
Jessica Jurado Arroyo, associate director of career integration and internships in the Center for Career & Life Planning, has been named the 2025 Supervisor of the Year.
Arroyo’s nominators share, “Jessica’s exceptional mentorship and dedication to both the personal and professional growth of her student employment team is why she was nominated for this award. She goes above and beyond to understand individual career goals and actively supports her team in building the skills necessary to achieve them. Through constructive feedback, guidance, and connecting her student employees with valuable professional development opportunities, such as workshops and networking events, Jessica ensures her team members gain real-world experience that aligns with their aspirations.”
Another colleague added, “Jessica fosters an inclusive environment where all voices are heard, and she recognizes individual contributions, which boosts morale and strengthens team collaboration. Jessica’s leadership is characterized by her genuine investment in her student employees’ growth, providing personalized advice, practical career development sessions, and creating a work environment that empowers everyone to thrive.”
Since 2018, the Student Employee Supervisor of the Year award recognizes those who assume the important task of supervising, developing, and mentoring our student employees. These supervisors play a crucial role in providing much-needed support to the offices and departments they serve and ultimately contribute greatly to the success of students both at Rollins and beyond.
